I had two fat quarters with a white background and I debated whether there would be enough contrast to use them for the blocks. After sewing up one set of 1/2 square triangles I felt there was enough contrast to see the block pattern and since I have limited fabric choices for this quilt I decided to leave them in.
As you can see from the picture I used Thangles to make my half square triangles. I use them for block sizes 4 inches and smaller otherwise I use the square method - drawing a line and sewing on either side of it to get 2 1/2 square triangle blocks.
I also rummaged through my stash and found two light pink fabrics that can be combined for the backing - I was afraid I wouldn't have anything that would work and would need to buy more fabric. Since I piece almost all of my backs from my stash I was glad I had something that would work - after all my goal is to use what I have whenever possible!

I have never used thangles, it looks interesting. I am interested to see how an all pink looks.
From the picture it looks like you have plenty of contrast. A pink quilt would look cute in that pattern. Look forward to seeing the finished project.
I've never used thangles either! Looks like you are making a good start on that top though... and 2 of the tops I am working on now are going to have pieced backs. Great way to bust stash, I think!
Cheers!

Looks like plenty of contrast, and I look forward to seeing the blocks together.
I would use thangles or triangles in a roll in a heartbeat--let someone else worry about marking that grid!
Going to be a really girly quilt!
I've never bought thangles, but I often print off my own squares from my computer and Coreldraw... :)
Whats a thangle?
I love thangles! Those bright pinks are terrific, too.
That's such a pretty combination of pinks!
The quilt will be beautiful! Can't wait to see it finished!

I have a quilt made of the same pink fabric, but it has no triangles in it. I haven't used Thangles, but I have used triangles on a roll.
I haven't tried applique yet, but it is on my list to try real soon.
It looks great, I think this will be such a fun quilt...

Such cheerful fabrics....That is going to be a great quilt.
I like your goal...to use what you have even for your backings! I love a piece backing, I think it makes the quilt all the more interesting.
Hi Mary, I love your pinks. It's not a color I use much, altho I have quite abit of pink in my stash.
I think it's going to look great!
Mary, it's going to be so pretty!!
