This book, A Passion for Patchwork has some seriously cute patterns in it. I can't remember for sure but I think I picked it up at B&N or Borders on a clearance table (maybe a couple years ago) and it was the inspiration for my current doll quilt.
Unfortunately, I think I would have done better to have quilted this on my sewing machine because hand quilting this grid isn't going to give the same definition that machine quilting it would. I should have realized that before starting but I was eager for another hand quilting project and just rushed into it.

Sheesh, I could send you some handquilting projects! LOL
I'm sure it will look great when you are done. I prefer handquilting for its softness and timelessness; I just don't like to DO it!
Isn't this book seriously fabulous? I happened upon it several months ago when I was looking to use my 40% Joann coupon, and I grabbed it without really looking at it too much...I saw the denim bag and put it in the cart. After I got home and really looked at the huge quantity of adorable projects I was SO glad that I bought this book!

I found that book at JoAnn's several months ago in the aisle with the trims and was able to use a coupon on it. Hmmmm, now where did I put it?
I have made a lot from this book. You know Lise Bergene is a norwegian designer. Have all her books :) And I have met her several times.
Hand quilting won't give the SAME definition, but it has it's own beauty :)
What nice table runner. I still really like the look and feel of hand quilting.
Yeah, but, you'll always enjoy that one because you hand quilted it. Your stitches are nice and tiny and even too!
I have also made a lot of things from that book - love her (Lise Bergene's) simple style, and have used a lot of scraps for my quilts.
Pretty color-combination you have on this one Mary.
I dunno...looks pretty good!
Hand quilting and machine quilting are just different. I think it is really cute.
I really like that! I like the colors and the quilting!
I think it looks great. And if hand sewing is how you relax, it can hardly be called a mistake!
Cheers!
Evelyn
I love this book, but am yet to make anything out of it even though there is so much I'd love to make. And I love hand quilting too, makes up for the fact that I can't machine quilt (yet).
Do you know that Lise Bergene is Norwegian?
Her simple style is appealing.
This book is very beautiful, rich of ideas and projects. Great indeed! ;)))))
