Thanks for the comments, compliments, and encouragement

I appreciate the comments and encouragement! I'm working my way around the borders of donated top now, I'm just doing a simple feather with an echo (and a wobbly echo at that!) - I'm sure as Mereth suggested on the hearts that by the time I'm done with the quilt these will somewhat perfected too (hopefully).

This is the first time I've used the pebbles on a quilt and I love them. No matter how poorly I feel like I'm quilting them, when I'm done and step back they look great! I think it's because you quilt around them 2-3 times so they don't have to be perfect.

I was second guessing using the heart fill. I loved what Mereth did on her banner so maybe next time I have a large open space I'll use a meander that includes a variety of shapes.

Sometimes I'm amazed at how self-critical long-armers can be. Your quilting is gorgeous! Enjoy your talent. It rocks.

I've seen pebbles on quilts before, but never knew that's what they're called. Feel like doing a tutorial for us? :)

The pebbles look great, Mary. Tutorial? Did I hear that correctly? Hope I don't miss that, but it'll be on a longarm, right? Wonder if I can do it on my little Bernina? Great job! Keep it up.

Found a way to get to your blog here at work so I'm caught up with you again. You've not yet told us what had you in tears and then on top of the world. Whatever it was - I hope it still has you on top of the world.

Your quilting looks great! I feel the same way you do aboug my freehand quilting. My friend Kathi gave me a quilt top last night that's for her newest grandbaby due in November, and she wants custom freehand things that I'm not that good at yet. I told her I was still struggling with shapes like she wanted but I'd do my best and she said that was fine. Wish I could put it on the machine right away and get it off my mind. Anyway, I don't see anything wrong with your feathers. They look good to me. And your pebbles look great - they are one of the things I'm still struggling to make look good.

Your upcoming trip sounds absolutely fabulous! Sounds like you have a gem of a husband.
