Take a look at the flowers here on Patsy Thompson's blog - I haven't ever re-quilted a design like this but doesn't it look great?
Since I do better with flowers using a pantograph - wouldn't it give it a unique look to quilt the top using a floral pantograph and then go back and requilt it freehand with a different thread like this? I might have to try it on a smaller quilt when I have some time to play.

I love Patsy's blog too...when I need a creative quilting shot in the arm, I wander over there. I'm trying to be patient waiting for the handles for my (new to me) HQ. Its getting harder and harder! Have a great trip...
Yes, aren't they cool. I wrote to Patsy about her designs ... she quilts on her DSM. Awhile back I purchased some patterns called TWICE QUILTED. Haven't used them yet ... soon. They're very similar to Patsy's idea. I found mine at Joann's ... here's Amazon

P.S. Have a great trip to CA.
Hi Mary,
I've been following along with your blog and thought it's about time for me to leave a comment. Sometimes it's just easier to read and not comment. Sorry about that.
Thank you for the link to Patsy Thompson's site. Wow! Her quiltings are amazing! Congrats on your move! Great job of unpacking in a short time.
Have a great trip to San Diego. I'm about 1 1/2 hrs. away for SD... love it there.
Mary, Thank you for the link to Patsy's blog. I really enjoyed looking around. Take care and God bless, Cory
Thank you so much for the link Mary, I have never seen Patsy's blog before, and the quiting is just wonderful. I can only dream of achieving that level of success.
*hugs*

Very cool!!! I am going to have to get back to her site when I've got some free time. Thanks for the link, Mary!
These designs look so sophisticated don't they! I'd love to see your 'take' on this by freehanding round a pevious pantograph design :)
