Lizards

Now that Blogger is cooperating, I'll share the photos of my Lizard Strippie I quilted this afternoon. After my glass of wine, I went upstairs and finished assembling the RWB Rail top and trimmed this quilt so now I have two ready for binding and need to load another quilt on the longarm.

Maybe I'll get some of that done tomorrow but I'm going to visit Sue Frank from HeartStrings for lunch and pick up a couple tops for quilting.

Do you think I should call this quilting Swirling? It's a slight variation on Dawn's Dwirling from the Pajama Quilter DVD. I was getting ready to quilt spirals and decided this would better suit this little top. As an added bonus it was quicker to quilt too!

And of course, I had to add a Beanie Baby to the top - again from Dawn's DVD....this is a really cute little quilt. I'm also happy to say the fabrics for both the top and back were from stash too!

Those quilts are so cute with the toys attached! Where do you donate these kids quilts?

I really like the 'swirling'. I did a practice bit of dwirling, but the cheater panel I wanted to practice on had to be loaded sideways. I ended up doing puzzle pieces instead and got mixed up! All was well and I'm piecing a back for the next practice piece!

Great swirls. My favorite so far I think!

I totally love the swirlies! Are you sure you don't want to quilt other people's quilts?!?

Do you need gently used beanies to go with your quilt tops? If you can use them, I'll dig some out of the boxes in the attic where I've stored them and freshen them up some. I'm impressed that you can quilt after drinking wine! I'd be afraid I'd sew through my fingers...but then, I did that a few years ago when I wasn't drinking! :o)

That is just adorable Mary. Your swirling looks great and that beanie baby is perfect for that quilt. You opened up a whole realm of possibilities for me with your strippie quilts as they are perfect for border fabrics - thank you!

Your Swirling is PERFECT, Mary! Very watery and slithery! ;-)

I am in complete agreement with Irene--a cute, cute quilt; I love the swirling quilting; and I have just discovered all the possibilities with the strippie quilts. Made one already and love it! Thank you for sharing some of your patterns.

I like the swirls. Good "water" pattern. That was my first thought but it is great for many applications! Glad to see you getting your quilty groove back.

Love the swirling. I'll have to try that sometime in the near future. I have a new panto to try first -- flowing feathers or something like that!

Your swirls look like waves in the ocean. You did a really good job.

Great swirling, wonderful idea. I have done a couple of quilts with the "dwirling" but will have to try your variation.

The swirling is great. I love the strip quilt pattern -- so easy, so quick, such a great way to show off a fabulous fabric! And that lizard fabric is nothing if not fantastic. :)

What a fun fabric! I love your quilting, to me the swirls look like ocean waves.

What a cute little guy that is sitting there on your quilt! ….OK, if you ever tell anyone that I said that, I will deny it. Because anyone who knows me, knows how I hate real life lizards! :P Love from Texas! ~bonnie

I really like this quilting. I have no idea what "dwirling" is (I guess I need the dvd huh?) but your "swirling is great.
