Sharing

When I learn something new I like to pass it along so I decided I'd show Mom how to make the Mary's Triangle blocks (also know as Shaded 9 patch). Of course she wanted to make the variation with the half square triangle rather than the square in the corner but the method for making two blocks at once is still the same.

Since she wanted to make fish from her blocks I designed a quick little donation quilt for her to make and we've been working on cutting (me) and piecing blocks (her).

To make the fish float, we looked at doing sashing but in the end it was less complicated to just fame each set of 4 fish with the background fabric and then set the quilt on point and Mom likes easy even more than I do.
Her fish are already made and we're going to take a break from sewing for a bit.
