Are YOU ready for the Olympics?

Keith and I typically watch a lot of the Olympics and I want to make sure I'm still being productive so I spent time today in the upstairs sewing room trimming and binding quilts. As of now, I have 4 quilts ready to be hand stitched down.

Don't you love this pink stripe? I really need to head back over to the Real Women Quilt website and see if Pam has any more of it. By the way, don't bother to write and tell me I should have made bias binding with these stripes....I'm trying to get caught up so while the thought briefly crossed my mind - I didn't want to spare the time to find instructions and figure it out.

I was sure Deb in AZ had sent some of the yellow fabric for binding but no matter how hard I looked, I could not find it...maybe I'm confused and am thinking about a different quilt. Anyway, I pulled out another stripe.

I think this will work just fine.
And here's my stack of 4 all ready for stitching - tomorrow I need to print more HeartStrings labels so I can stitch them on as I'm finishing the bindings.

On tomorrow's agenda is loading and starting to quilt top #6 of 10.

I just love your string quilts. I never tire of looking at them! What a great idea to get a bunch of quilts ready for binding while you watch the Olympics!

I must be thinking along the same wavelength, I have prepared a few stitchings to sit and do while I am watching the olympics. At least then I am not really wasting my time....

Yes, absolutely, stripe bindings add so much life to a quilt. Great job on getting so much done!

I never use bias binding unless I need the effect from the print in the fabric. I have a mongo cross stitch project to work on during the games!

Mary - I love the stripe binding. I never do my on the bias either. You do such good quilting work. Are you available for hire? I read your blog everyday and am so inspired to see your current projects. Take care. Hope Chesty is feeling well too. Go Olympics!! Jennifer

Um, sorry... did not send binding, just backing fabric for that school theme kitty quilt. Your stripe choice was perfect.
If you are ready for another lap size string top to quilt I will mail as soon as backing is decided on. Oh, and yes- binding included this time ! :)

Oh, I wish I had something to bind while watching the Olympics. Sadly, summer is NOT a sewing time for me. I am looking forward to opening ceremonies. They say it is going to be spectacular!

I prefer the stripes cut the way you did them. I think it adds a lot of zip to the edge, more than bias does. I use stripes a lot.
