What I won't be doing this afternoon is sewing -- my Elna froze up last night and won't sew a stitch for me. I've got to see if I can find a dealer here and see if it can be fixed and how much it will cost me. The machine is 7+ years old and I've never had any problems with it before. I do have a back up machine - the Janome Gem I bought last year as my carry around machine so at least I won't be without one.

Thanks goodness you have a back-up machine. I hope that it isn't anything to serious. I have been thinking about getting my Mom's old machine up and running just for this very situation.
Crikey what a disaster Mary, I know this is gonna sound awful, but does it need a drop of oil. Cos that is just what happened to my machine and I took it in to the shop and all it needed was oil!! I felt so silly.

OH NO!!!!!! nothing is worse than a machine that has the flu! Thank Goodness for backup machines and at least you can still sew!!
