One of the questions I get periodically (or see on other blogs) is how to upload files other than photos to blogger...well, you can't but you can upload files to another site and then link to them.
I was reading a post on Tanya's blog and did a search last night. I didn't realize that Google has a webpage *site* that allows you to upload files. So if you've been looking for a place to host your non-photo files, check it out, it's free. I uploaded a PDF file of my boxed squares to test it and it works!
Google Sites is an online application that makes creating a team web site as easy as editing a document. With Google Sites, people can quickly gather a variety of information in one place -- including videos, calendars, presentations, attachments, and text -- and easily share it for viewing or editing with a small group, their entire organization, or the world. Get started with Google Sites at http://sites.google.com/site.

Thanks for doing the research. I was looking for a place to host PDFs at the end of last year.
May look into this Mary, if I can work it out that is. I wonder though would it be any use for me! I only tend to chatter and put piks on my Blog. ho hum jan in uk
Thanks for the info, but it's all over my head.
Thanks for the info. One never knows when I might have something to share.
That's great information. I don't have the patience to read instructions. I read too fast and end up missing a step. A question I do have is how do you link a site and use only a word, like your "chip clamps" and it takes you to Amazon.com?
I am adding this to the list of things I want to learn if and when I find a "blogging for dummies" class. I am still excited when I get a photo to post in the spot I want it to be!
Not that I ever put anything in my blog except pictures....but I'm always on the lookout for something new to learn. Thanks!
And....Thanks for the PDF Mary. I've just printed it out and plan to get started cutting.
Thanks, Mary. I'll bookmark this and give it a try when I get a minute!
Thank you Mary. I'm not sure how I'll use your information but I'll first try making a PDF file and then see what I can do from there.
oh Mary this is awesome - a solution to a problem I was having... this year with my FQ Bingo I created a yahoo group just for it - but not all of my players wnated to join another group just to download the Rules (PDF file) if I had only known of this I could have jsut given them a link...
thanks! I'll use this next year for sure! :) and maybe on my blog for anything I want to share that is different than a photo ;)
Love from Texas! ~bonnie
