I'm having the best time

Reading all these comments on hair coloring has been interesting and fun. Thanks for taking the time to write.

I don't plan to color my hair -- I was just surprised to see in the photos that I'm more gray than I thought! I have colored my hair in the past for fun but it does take time and $$ for upkeep and I'd rather spend both reading or quilting.

Keith loves it the way it is and my hairdresser is adamant that I don't color it (he says it looks great as it is).

Of course, as I've gotten older and wiser - I try NOT to say I'll never do something. I'm just a little shy of 48 and I'll have to see how I feel in a few years when I'm more gray than brown but I'm thinking I'll be lucky because my hair is really more white than gray.

Mary, it's not gray -- it's silver or platinum!

Yes, Mary, it was interesting to see the reaction you received from us! LOL! I couldn't resist leaving a comment this morning either. I think your hairdresser is right, and I like LizA's comment. "It's not gray---it's silver"...Your hair looks beautiful!

I'm with Keith and your hairdresser, and men make the best hairdresser's you know.

I'll be 43 in July and am well over 50% grey. As I don't want to be mistaken for my 5-year old daughters grandmother I color... yes, it is time & money but to me I'm just not ready to give into the grey! Everyone is different!

If you have pretty gray hair of course you should leave it as is. Most women who dye their hair don't realize their pink scalp is just glowing like a ball through their thinning dyed hair.

I am in the process of turning 54 since I see that it is 12:03am and I have also noticed a lot more grey in my hair. I have thought of coloring it but just can't bring myself to making the committment. My little sister has been completely grey for 10 years so I guess I should count myself blessed.

I thought of you yesterday as I was getting my haircut and the beautician was telling another gal how much it cost to color her hair. I almost fell out of the chair! :-) I'm loving my natural look all the more now.

Hi Mary, I decided to go 'gray' last year... just took a long time to get the color gone. I love mine now...(although the photo was taken before I made the 'gray matter' decision.

Good for you! I am 50 and quit coloring my hair about 4 years ago. I wish I had quit years earlier. If you have dark hair it is expensive and difficult to get a natural color job. I keep mine very short, and try to spike it up a little to give it a younger look. I also have some white streaks. I've had lots of compliments since I went gray. I am glad you are not giving in to the pressure a lot of women feel to color their hair!
