I want to compile a list of links with string quilt variations for HeartStrings so if you've made a string quilt or have a favorite link to a string quilt share the link on this post for a chance to win a prize. Each link you share gets you one chance to win and if you share a link that inspires my next string quilt you'll win too!
I'll start off the list with some string quilts I've made(these link to instructions for making the quilts too):
String Tumblers
Amish Stripes and Strings
Chinese Coins with Coins border
Chinese Coins - Easy version
Chinese Coins - Easy version #2
Chinese Coins ~ Uneven Version
Strings ~ Half Square Strings
Strings ~ Patriotic Star
Strings ~ Purple Project Quilt #1
Strings ~ Purple Project Quilt #2
Strings ~ Rectangle Strings
Strips and Strings Log Cabin
Strings ~ Hearts
This Coins quilt doesn't have instructions but it's based on a quilt by Karla Alexander on the cover of this book.
Here's my String Courthouse Steps quilt based on one by Sandy Bonsib on the cover of this book.
This is my HeartStrings quilt with green centers -- instructions are available here and here's my Pink version.
It doesn't have to be a quilt of yours to share the link but make sure I can contact you by email if you win. The contest will end on June 22nd when I get back to town.
Now, what are your favorite string quilt variations?

I've made 2 string quilts. Here http://barnquilter.blogspot.com/2008/06/clothes-lines-and-stuff.html and here http://barnquilter.blogspot.com/2008/04/kisses-for-mariana.html. I'm really jazzed about making a tumbler or thousand pyramids quilt using the hundreds (EEEK!) of string/crumb blocks I've accumulated. They are so addictive to make. Just mindless sewing, no seams or points to match.
Mary, thanks for sharing your string quilts, they are beautiful. We're gonna use the string quilt block for our next charity sew-in and now I have a place to refer people so they can see how cool these quilts can turn out.
Hello Mary, here is the link to my fabric string quilt, one I made for my youngest granddaughter. Made with love in every stitch

Love your blog........Mam

These 2 are not strictly 'string' quilts but strings could be used.
Funny you should ask...I'm taking a workshop on string quilting taught by Ami Simms today! Here's a link to her website that shows several of the quilts that have been made by people who have taken the workshop... http://amisimms.net/stringquilts.html
Almost forgot ran across this one last night. She calls it candy stripes

Oh, what fun! We've made lots of heartstrings and I'm looking for something else. I should have a bunch of links, but to get started for now, here are 3 of the more different hearstrings quilts I've made or my committee has made using your patterns:
Rainbow rectangular heartstrings

Different rainbow square heartstrings (not yet finished):

Fighting Illini (local university sports team) colors heartstrings:

What a great idea Mary. Here's my post showing several of the QOV tops done by the local volunteers last year.

Hi Mary, I love all you string quilts. I have always wanted to make truly scrappy quilts but for some reason I seem to have a mental block (not a lack of scaps or fabric). You have inspired me to get over it and just go for it. Thanks for the inspiration.

I have one started for my daughter, based on one by a husband-and-wife team quilters in a cyber-group. This is the layout I am using:

The one I am making DD has a blue fabric through the middle of each string block.

Okay...obviously could not help myself. I promise to stop now.
I am new to the world of string quilts. Here is the link to what I call my first string quilt.

I love string quilts and always use my scraps! My blog has one I just finished with strings used in rectangles, logs, triangles and squares. I'll go post it! Love to read your blog.
Don't forget my String Fish Aquarium.
On my own list of "Someday" quilts is this awesome string spools quilt made by Jean Roesler of Palisade, Colorado.

This is my first string quilt:

It was a variation on one of Bonnie Hunter's quilts.
Glad to see there are folks that have made more than I have!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bonnie Hunter's Virginia Bound string quilt:

Okay, so this pattern isn't technically for a string quilt, but you could certainly use it to make one:
http://www.quiltuniversity.com/Galleries/gallery_4a.htm
Scroll down to the pictures for the Strip Mine quilts. You can order the Strip Mine pattern without taking the class.
This is one of my favorites.

Roogrr's back to 100% after his second TPLO. I see him a little stiff when he gets up, but seems to walk it off right away. I am taking him to hydrotherapy to bulk up some muscle in those thighs. I am glad I don't have to worry about the "other knee" anymore! Did you get Chesty on some glucosamine?
This is another I love, it's an old pattern, I don't see it around much.

Nice to see this..
Thank you very much...
