When the boys were growing up we always did a lot of arts and crafts and I got a kick out of this kit in Barnes & Nobles the other day because at one time we were into painting rocks. If I'd been home, I would have bought it just to paint a couple to send to the boys.

that's too funny! Gotta love painted rocks!
How cute! I don't undrestand why kids today have to have kits for everything!
How wonderful that she saved the rocks. Make sure you send your boys the photo so they can see how she treasured them.
It's so sweet that she saved them!
Aren't they great? Most kids today would only do something like that if it could be done on the computer I reckon.
our girls painted rocks too!
how nice that she saved them...
that kit would be fun when they come to visit again!
bet they would have fun doing it now!
oh how sweet that she still has them! i completely forgot about painting rocks. i did it with my kids and now i can do it with my grandkids.
I used to paint rocks and terra cotta pots (which we would then plant with flowers) with my nieces and nephew when they were little. Now they're in their 20's and at family get togethers they will talk about doing those things ... I thought they'd never remember ... how wonderful to be wrong!

We used to paint the large rocks (almost boulders!) in the yard at our summer cottage. The last time I think we painted little aliens on them! We also painted rocks from the beach...thanks for reminding me of it!
Ooh, it's school holidays here, what a great idea, my kids would love that...thanks!
Your Mum's baby quilts are very cute1 Tracey
I love those little rocks -- they'd look great in some potted plants.
How lovely that she kept them. My mother kept treasures like that. I try to keep things too, but my grandchildren dont seem to be as crafty as my children were.
I loved painting rocks! The one your mom still has are adorable!
Those stones are just beautiful!
I almost jumped in my chair when I first saw them, two of these, are almost exact the same, colors and all, I have on my porch! Made by my kids a few yrs ago!
I bought a book with painting on rocks for the kids back then, and used acrylic paint to decorate.
How fun! I should really take a pic of them, so you can see:o)
BTW, I love how your pink and brown quilt is turning :o)
Happy sewing,
Laila
