I'm a hermit most of the time. I don't like the traffic anymore. I plan all my trips off the hill in sequence so that I don't have to spend anymore time in town doing errands than I have to. I didn't used to be this way---but, I just love being at home!
As I've gotten older I've found myself wanting to stay home more and more. I work incredibly long hours in a high pressure world so when I reach the sanctuary of home I don't want to leave for anything. Like Angie I plan any venture outside in the most efficient way so I can get back as quickly as possible. A perfect day for me is mostly spent sewing or quilting, music or an old movie in the background, no telephone ringing, enjoying a nice dinner with my DH (at home) and a quiet evening together. When I was a "puppy" I was on the go CONSTANTLY ... socializing, shopping, working ... loving it all. Funny how you do a 180 degree turn at some point in your life. There is NOTHING wrong with being a hermit .....

My natural inclination is to be a hermit also... I force myself to go against that!

I do hope you enjoyed the hermit time.
And, just to mention, that's one of the many Archetypes of Karen. :)
