T-shirt quilts
There's been some discussion on T-shirt quilts on the Stashbusters list so I thought I'd post the one I made (my Mom helped with the piecing) for my son Chris for his graduation from college.
I know a lot of people hate these quilts and think they're ugly but I think they can be special for the recipient. Chris was thrilled with his and although it isn't anything fancy it was the quilt HE wanted for graduation.

I see a lot of people crinkle their nose at the mention of a T-Shirt quilt. I have no idea why. It is a great way of saving T-Shirts and actually using them. And who doesn't like to cuddle up with a quilt?
It looks great!
I think this one is a very nice t shirt quilt. I don't think any quilts are ugly and Chris loved it. What could be better?

It looks grat to me. I keep thinking about making one, but am scared off by stabilizing all the knitt fabric!
I really like your T-shirt quilt :o) It must be very special to the owner.
I love my quilt! and it is on my bed right now! But it really is my favorite our of all of the ones my mom has made for me. It brings back a lot of great memories, and saved the t-shirts which I proably would have had to given up!
I think they're so neat! They're such a keepsake type item. I wish I had one from all my favorites from high school/college.

well, T shirt quilts won't win any awards for beauty, but they are sure well more loved than many others! Such a neat way to capture lots of memories. All 3 of my girls have one. Your son loves it and that's what really matters!
PS..welcome home!
But the teenagers love these quilts and that's what counts! I think it's a great quilt and your son is obviously VERY pleased with it! Great job :-)
Hummm, I wonder if the reason why Adam collects T-shirts - because Chris has such a great T-shirt quilt! I saved tons of T-shirts for such a quilt and when I owned a cleaning business my DH (then boyfriend) cut them all up into rags - since I never wore them anyway! To be fair - they were all in a box in the bottom of the closet, but still... Yikes! So, good for you for being the good Mom and saving Chris's T-shirts from a certain doom - quilts are forever!
And welcome home! Sounds like you had a nice trip.
Cheers!

great quilt Mary-and clearly a favorite of Chris's...as he said, if they have it on their bed..yes they love it and that is all that counts!
A lovely quilt and even better to see Chris and his Dad's happy faces.
