Back to work

The suitcase with my clothes came this morning and I caught up on some sleep. Now I'm back at work - Mom and I are each working on our own projects this visit.

She's making a log cabin in the same pattern as one I finished last year. The pattern is from the book The Best of Black Mountain Quilts and I added borders to make mine a little larger. Being the nice daughter that I am - I cut all her strips for her.

I'm working on a quilt for Heartstrings Purple Project. I've got 8 of the 24 blocks pieced and I like how it looks. I chose pink, purple, blue, and green fabrics for this one. The blue will be an inner border but I'm considering sandwiching it between two borders of the purple print.

Duh . . I left a comment on the old post to which you linked. I've always loved that quilt and didn't know it was in that book. I have that book . . somewhere!

Love the fabrics/colours you used in your blocks. The blues look almost turquoise and make the other colours really pop :)

That is going to be a bright beautiful quilt. I'm so glad your clothes made it. Now you can relax and enjoy your time.
