We're both OK

Nothing like a disaster to change your focus quickly.

After a couple hours of not hearing from Keith I decided to go look for him. He'd mentioned one restaurant as a possibility for dinner so I went there and found him (and his business associates). I probably embarrassed him by showing up but I felt better.

I'm so sorry for all the families involved and hope that no one from Keith's company was on the bridge when it collapsed.

Thanks for letting us know. We were concerned and certainly feel for those families who were affected.

I'm glad you posted after the collapse. My first thought when I heard about the bridge was that you and Keith live in M'polis and I hoped that you both were ok. What a dreadful thing!

thank you so much for letting us know that you and Keith are OK...when I heard it this morning...missed the news last night...you came to mind immediately. I've been on that bridge several times...what a terrible, terrible thing.

Mary, I just saw the headline on my home page and of course, immediately thought of you and Keith. What an awful thing to happen--like the bridge collapsing during the Oakland earthquake or interstate highway in one of the plains state just suddenly breaking apart. I supposed we will learn more today about the workers on the bridge and any people in cars.

Glad that you hunted him down and that both of you are OK!

You were the first person I thought of when I heard about the disaster. I'm thankful you both are OK and that few lives were lost. Little things we take for granted... crossing a bridge... who would have thought???

Glad you were able to track Keith down...and that you had an idea of where he might be! So thankful you are both safe. Sad, horrible event.

Mary,
I wondered about you as well. I am so thankful that you and Keith are fine. I hope it hasn't affected anyone he works with.

I am thankful that no one I know was there. I will call my sister later today and see if she knows anyone who has been affected.

All we can do is pray.
Hugs
Laurie

I am so glad that you and Keith are O.K. What a horrible disaster. I actually have an extreme fear of bridges and my DH teases me about it all of the time. I told him this morning, "See, they can just collapse!" My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those involved.

I just thought of you this morning. I am glad you are both okay. Don't worry about embarrassing him, I tell my husband that is what I am supposed to do all the time!

My nephew is up there this summer (he is coming home on Saturday). We (my entire family) left him and his girlfriend a gazillion phone messages on their phones. We couldn't get through on landlines because all circuits were busy. Finally, at 10:30 last night he heard his cell phone beeping! Turns out, they were sitting in the living room watching the news coverage and didn't think to call home. Argh! Kids!

I told him I was happy he was okay, but I wanted to kill him for not calling us!
