Maybe I'm not meant to be spontaneous

I started these trees in April for Tonya's Summer Class but hadn't gotten around to assembling them into a top - it's kind of disastrous! I've decided that I need my EQ! I've put the other trees away for now and I am going  to quilt this - it will be good practice.

I'm not sure whether it was my color scheme or not having a clear idea how I wanted to assemble these different size blocks that was the problem but I had LOTS of fun making the trees and I'll revisit this process....I'll just do a little more planning this time vs. trying to follow the guidelines and being spontaneous. Seriously, I AM a planner, I NEED to plan!

I like your "unplanned" quilt, Mary ... you might not think it looks good ... I'm here to tell you it looks GREAT!! Enjoy the process ... it's not the destination but the journey that counts.....

I don't know where you're seeing the problem -- I like it!

I am seeing *fun* and *creative* and *happiness* ~~ I like it! If you are thinking it needs a different home ~ see my hand waving and willing to adopt it ;>D!!

I think they look just fine but I always work better when everything is written out. I would love to be more spontaneous.

I like it, too! But I'll have to say that I think both the journey AND the destination count. If you enjoy the journey but don't like the outcome, you'll only be partially satisfied. You do GREAT work already. Unplanned isn't for everyone. BTW, check out this blog-- she made a cover for her Kindle: http://timberhillthreads.blogspot.com

WOW!!! I often read your blog. Everytime I got a smile when I see you picture above with a glass of red wine, because I love to enjoy that too. And the wonderful quiltings you show so often on your quilts. But this quilt above is soooooo wonderful! I like it very much! Looks like christmas trees. Great!

I don't see a problem. I love the way it looks. It would make a great wall hanging. If you are not happy with this one, maybe you should try another one with more similar fabrics and see how you like it. I would not give up on this one yet. It's great.
