Do you procrastinate?

I'm very lucky that I have a few people who help me out by making backings for HeartStrings tops but I still have lots of them that are either smaller or larger than our standard quilts and those are the ones that wait for me to piece backings.

I was very good tonight and pieced 3 backs. Between these and the ones pieced for me -- I'll have plenty ready to load for the next couple weeks (assuming I keep waking up with the desire to quilt!)

So what have YOU been putting off doing?

Finishing the curtains for our VW camper bus. I'm lining the current curtains with a really cute camping fabric that will face the inside of the bus. It's a tedious job and I've managed to put it off for about a month now. I've just got the last two for the back window to do now....

You could not get me to believe that you are working at a slower pace this summer!! (I'm reading backwards on your posts) ALL your quilt pictures just make me sigh with the beauty in each of them. I really think you need to make a book of just pictures of your quilting. It would be a great coffee table book!!!

I procrastinate over housework. I'd rather be quilting. Is that unusual? Reading blogs, I don't think so. Lol.

I have a few window covering jobs that I took, they really are easy ones. I've had to give myself a deadline now cause enough is enough.

Basting large quilts. Small projects get finished right away but bedsize quilts sit for ages, sometimes years! I hate basting.

Oh yeah, and what Joyce said, too. Housework is absolutly last on my list. Life is too short to spend it vacuuming.

Mary - You do such beautiful work! I don't have a long-arm, so I put off quilting my tops... partially because I can never decide what to do with it, and partially because it's so hard to do on my home machine. I hope you don't ever lose your desire to quilt - I truly admire your work. Making a heartstrings quilt is something I hope to do in the near future. They are all so lovely!

Mary, I am constantly amazed by your productivity! At my house, things seem to drag on forever...right now, I'm putting the binding on a quilt I made last year! (Made a couple in between there, but still....) Out of curiosity, how many quilts have you made this year?

On my sewing table...fabric for 9 patch halloween swap blocks, civil war and muslin fabrics for a 70 signature block swap, fabric to finish an I SPY quilt, cut outs for 2 baby quilts, my son's I SPY quilt that I have almost finished quilting.....shall I go on? And yet, everyday I still managed to come up with new projects! I've got to stop that cycle! Hopefully I will be in a quilty mood while the baby naps this weekend. Wish me luck! I wish it on you too! I am knitting a simple cardigan, but progress is slow because I keep finding other projects to do.

Today, I rounded up five quilts that need labels: one from 2005. Now, that is definitely procrastinating!

Ditto Jodie and Joyce. I'm the Queen of Procrastination. Your work is gorgeous, as always. I'm a fan.

what have i been putting off doing? Washing the front windows, folding the laundry, dusting, vacuuming... all the other boring stuff. I put that stuff second to the things that rejuvenate me.

I have the same Met bag!

ALL of the bedding/curtain/quilt for the nursery...yea I need to ge cracking.

Good luck to you!

Oh yes...I procrastinate a lot! That is why I have a lot of UFO's...when I get to a part that isn't as much fun, I move on to something else. Usually I get stuck at the borders part because it's boring!
And I procrastinate ALL housework!

I don't procrastinate with housework -- I ignore it, unless Thanksgiving or Christmas are around the corner. I'm procrastinating going through stacks of old magazines I bought at a guild show. I'll just find more projects I want to make.

When I think of procrastination, I surely don't think of you. You get so much done.

Scuse me, but didn't you say you were going to slow down this summer??

As for procrastination, if it were an Olympic sport I'd win the gold medal!

Procrastination? It's my middle name!!

Married to "Mr. Make A List" who then gets everything on the list checked off!! Fortunately he doesn't judge me by MY continually growing list ... we're like the grasshopper and the ant ... guess who is the grasshopper ;-)

I think that's my middle name. After so many last minute panics, you'd think I would do things in a timely manner. The anxiety of a deadline looming over me must give me some energy. I should know and do better.

There was a kids show a few years ago that was sketch comedy with Amanda Bines. She had a character called "The Procrastinator"- a superhero who would save that cat stuck in the tree "eventually."
I can't seem to get anything done without a deadline. I am The Procrastinator!

Mostly I am procrastinating FINISHING anything. I think I've started a few projects over the summer and I pull them out to work on. Oh, fall will be here soon and then I'll be back to the finishing part.
